Cedax Description
CEFTIBUTEN SUSPENSION - ORAL (seff-tih-BYOU-ten)

Common Cedax Brand Name(s)
Cedax

Cedax Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness or headache may occur. If these symptoms continue or become severe, inform your doctor. Unlikely to occur but report a fever, easy bleeding or bruising, personality changes, black stool, skin changes, joint pain, yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine or a change in the amount of urine. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience an allergic reaction while taking this. Symptoms include difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

How To Use Cedax
CEDAX: Take CEDAX by mouth as directed usually once a day for 10 days. Shake well before pouring each dose. This is best taken on an empty stomach at least 2 hours before or 1 hour after a meal. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore take CEDAX at the same time each day. Continue to take CEDAX until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.

Cedax Uses
CEDAX is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infection such as bronchitis, middle ear infections, pharyngitis and tonsillitis.

Cedax Precautions
Before taking this, tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin, cephalosporins, any antibiotics or any other medications. Also mention if you have kidney disease, diabetes or a stomach or intestinal disorder or colitis. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this makes you dizzy. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking CEDAX. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if CEDAX is excreted into breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Cedax Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of any nonprescription or prescription medication you may take. CEDAX may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. CEDAX may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in the urine. Diabetics should use TesTape rather than Clinitest tablets to test for sugar while using CEDAX. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Cedax Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include muscle spasms and seizures.

Cedax Notes
This has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary.

Missed Cedax Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

Cedax Storage
Refrigerate at 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Do not freeze. Discard any unused medication after 14 days.
